Grande’ San Miguel Mission Windbell

Sale price$165.00

The San Miguel Grande’ expands upon one of the cornerstones of our original Mission Bell Collection™. Drawing direct inspiration from Santa Fe’s historic San Miguel Mission (est. 1605)—the oldest church structure in the United States—this scaled-up edition commands a bolder physical and acoustic presence. Designed as an expansive architectural focal point, the Grande’ infuses grand courtyards, sweeping garden landscapes, and high-ceiling interior retreats with an enduring sense of "Modern Heritage."

Moving beyond the fragile sand castings of the early frontier, the San Miguel Grande’ embodies precision Modernist Alchemy. Master Craftsman Marc Staples individually hand-fabricates each piece, scaling up the proportions to preserve a clean, sculptural silhouette.

Material Composition: Hand-wrought from heavy-gauge architectural steel.

Acoustic Profile: The enlarged 4-inch chamber unlocks a deeper, lower-frequency resonance with sustained reverberation. Tuned to activate in steady breezes, it delivers an authoritative, grounding tone far removed from mass-produced chimes.

Each bell is treated with a signature chemically applied patina that matures naturally over time, developing richer tonal depth as it weathers outdoors.

Erected between 1605 and 1608 across the Santa Fe River in the Barrio de Analco, the San Miguel Mission weathered centuries of desert upheaval and conflict. The Grande’ edition pays homage to that monumental resilience, transforming substantial steel into a timeless acoustic artifact that bridges historic frontier endurance with contemporary architectural design.

Every original creation from the Lago Luna Studio carries the personal touch of the artist—a distinct "M" monogram hand-stamped onto the striker to guarantee authentic Marc Staples provenance.

Total Display Length: Approximately 28 inches (including the 10-inch heavy-duty hanging chain).

Body Dimensions: 18" High (Body + Windsail) x 4" Diameter.

Material: Hand-fabricated Steel.

Origin: Handcrafted in Buffalo Junction, Virginia.
