"Summer Harvest" | Hand-Forged Sculptural Wall Sconce
Summer Harvest Wall Sconce By Marc Staples | Lago Luna Studio
Sculptural Illumination Bridging the gap between functional lighting and fine art sculpture, the Summer Harvest sconce is a dramatic statement piece designed to command a room. Inspired by the organic unfolding of a tobacco leaf at peak harvest, this fixture captures the raw beauty of nature, reinterpreted through hammered steel.
Designed by Marc Staples, the sconce features deep, dimensional layering that conceals the light source, allowing a warm, ambient glow to wash over the hand-textured metal. This unusual piece projects boldly from the wall, creating complex silhouettes and adding architectural interest to dining rooms, foyers, or boutique commercial spaces.
Artisan Craftsmanship Each Summer Harvest sconce is a bespoke commission, handcrafted to order at the Lago Luna Studio in Virginia. The steel is meticulously hammered to catch the light, finished in your choice of our signature warm Torched-Copper or a luxurious Gold.

This sconce is designed as an ambient light source. Because the bulbs are concealed behind the deep, dimensional layering of the hammered steel, it creates a "wash" of light rather than a direct beam. This makes it ideal for setting a mood in dining rooms or grand foyers without the glare of a traditional fixture.
The 16-Inch Architectural Projection:
With a depth of 16 inches, this is a high-impact "Architectural" piece. It requires significant wall clearance and works best when placed at a height where the "unfolding" of the leaves can be appreciated from below. Consider its placement in transitional spaces like hallways only if the width allows for its bold 3D presence.
Shadow Mapping:
The hammered texture of the heavy-gauge steel is "activated" by the light source within. As the light hits the undulations of the metal, it casts a complex, radial shadow pattern onto the surrounding wall, effectively extending the artwork's footprint well beyond its physical 24-inch dimensions.
Finish Selection & Temperature:
Torched-Copper: Use a "Very Warm" bulb (2200K - 2400K) to pull out the deep, earthy ambers and iridescent highlights of the torch-fired steel.
Gold Finish: A "Warm White" bulb (2700K) will provide a clean, unapologetic luxury glow, emphasizing the "Summer Harvest" motif.
